I have always had a secret dream to run my own shop and last weekend it (sort of) came true when I had my own stall at Thriplow Daffodil Weekend & Country Show, selling my books and other things I’d make like a colouring-in posters, treasure hunts and scavenger hunts! Thanks to my big sister for helping me out all weekend and thank you to everyone who visited us. It was an enjoyable learning experience! https://www.thriplowdaffodils.org.uk/
I am really pleased to receive a thank you letter from Kensington Palace! I sent a copy of my book ‘Exploring Cambridge’ to the Duchess of Cambridge for her children. I thought they might be interested!
‘What is your favourite place in Cambridge and why?‘ Answer this question, posed on page 15 of Winter 2018 Primary Times (Cambridgeshire), for your chance to win a free copy of ‘Exploring Cambridge‘!
Many thanks to Beth at Clip ‘n Climb, Cambridge for donating two free climbing session as the prize for the ‘Gates Competition’. Check out the ‘fun stuff’ page for details!
I paid a visit to the wonderful Bellbird Primary School in Sawston last Friday to do a presentation and book reading, followed by a workshop for children to ‘design their own crazy bike‘. Here are some of the fantastic ideas they came up with. I was bowled over by their enthusiasm and creativity! Thanks Bellbird staff and children for welcoming me!
On Thursday I did a reading at my local library. Thanks to Chris and team for your support and for everyone who turned up and bought a copy. My daughter Elin has been great, taking it all in her stride and signing books, following her new found TV fame!
The books arrived last Friday and I sent out a news release on Tuesday. By the end of the day on Wednesday I had been interviewed by Cambridge News, BBC Look East and Cambridge Independent! I didn’t really expect to hear back from anyone so it was wonderful that they were interested and a little scary too! Thanks to everyone for your positive feedback and for taking an interest. You can now buy a copy from https://www.troubador.co.uk/bookshop/young-children/exploring-cambridge/ and from Navy Daisy on Sawston High Street. Phew! I think we need a holiday!
